The Berufsbildende Schule Wirtschaft is a vocational competence center for business studies in the economic area of Bad Kreuznach. We have around 1300 students - 900 attend school part-time andare trainees at local companies/ businesses at the same time or work full-time and attend evening classes to obtain additional qualifications in their respective jobs. Hence, among our 80 teachers we also employ specialists in the fields of law, accountancy, medicine and administration. The full-time students mostly do their A-levels with a focus on business studies and economics. Those who want to combineentrepreneurial skills with languages have the chance to attend an international course and graduate with the EBBD diploma (European Business Baccalaureate Diploma) which is standardized throughout Europe and will increase their chances on the international market. The entrepreneurship at our vocational competence center (Berufsbildende Schule Wirtschaft Bad Kreuznach) includes most of the teachers and the students:

• Our teachers studied business administration or worked in the business sector at least for one year and therefore hand on their practical knowledge about entrepreneurship to our students in ICT-based simulation in class or model/ junior companies.

• We also employ part-time teachers who are experts in special fields (law, administration, office management).

• All our students (part & full time) are either business trainees or gain practical experiences through work placements in Germany or abroad to.

• The career of all students is focused on business. Their main subject is business-related to give them an appropriate background for possible entrepreneurial activities.

• Biology teachers and students produce and sell their home-made honey in the region.

• All full time students have the chance to take part in the Junior project. Last year we had three Junior student companies. Two of them were among the ten best in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

• This year the teacher, who was responsible for the Junior student companies at our school, received a national award for the best mentor.

• This year our school won the Entrepreneurial School Award for Germany, which is a national and European recognition of the best schools in entrepreneurship education.

Our vision is to provide students with a wide range of skills to enable them to become successful in the world of work by learning theory at school and practicing their skills in internships at home and abroad, in junior companies, simulations and hands-on projects. This enables them to understand the economic background much better and motivates them to become achievers at school as well. The measures described above and many more activities are all taken by our institution in order to enable all of our students to become mature and responsible business experts. We are convinced that this profound economic background gives our students the opportunity to decide individually whether they want to achieve a university degree in economics, pursue a career in a company or even start a business of their own.
